The Last Lecture

From time to time someone from no where appears that makes a difference on millions of people. Most of them have never been heard of by the the majority, only a few lucky people. One such person is Dr. Randy Pausch at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

 

Childhood Dreams

Born October 23, 1960 Randy was a child with many dreams and as an adult he learned and mastered the art of living your childhood dreams. Childhood dreams are something that should not be forgotten but lived. If you can't remember your dreams Randy suggest going out and buying a box of crayons, every child in this country has had crayons and will remember the smell of them. Along with the smell will come the dreams if you will allow yourself to go back to your childhood.If living your childhood dreams made Dr. Pausch the person he is , Lets all live our childhood dreams, the world would be a better place.

Time Management Becomes Important

Sometimes it takes the worst things to bring out the best, August 2006 Dr. Randy Pausch was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The diagnoses is one of those live changing , I've been there, it's probably the worst news you would ever get. Live stands still for a while, then time management kicks in. How much time do you have and how do you make the most of it. If you have a family they become the most important thing , more time is given to them, more planning for their future. Dr. Pausch has three children, the first 3 copies of The Last Lecture have been set aside for them.

The Last Lecture

The Last Lectures at CMU are given by top academics , the last chance to lecture on what matters to them if it was your last chance. Well this was Dr Pausch's last chance as the clock is winding down for teaching and life, His Last Lecture was titled "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" . Neither Dr. Pausch or anyone at Carnegie Mellon University ever thought this lecture would reach millions, but it did. Somebody had a childhood dream to make the internet where people all over the world could see, read and take part of news, video's, interaction of others. The Last Lecture book and video have touch millions, lives have been changed, hope has been given, and the way many think has changed.

 

 

This is a book that should be in every home. Wish I had been one of Randy's classes.
